S. Douglas Werner, DO a board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in primary and revision joint arthroplasty of the hip and knee. He is an expert in the field of computer-assisted and robotic joint replacement, featuring MAKOplasty®, performing both hip and knee replacements for the treatment of arthritis.
Dr. Werner completed the Otto E. Aufranc Fellowship in Adult Reconstruction at the New England Baptist Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts where he also served as clinical instructor in orthopedic surgery for Tufts University. He completed his orthopedic surgery internship and residency at Ohio University, Mercy Saint Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio. He obtained his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from Midwestern University, Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, graduating with honors from Northern Arizona University.
Dr. Werner is an active member of numerous professional organizations including American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Osteopathic Association, and the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics.
