John Thompson, DO
 John Thompson, DO is a technically gifted surgeon and a favorite of local Sun City residents. He joined The CORE Institute after building the busiest solo practice in the Sun Cities and a stellar reputation throughout the community. He specializes in total joint replacements of the hip and knee.
Dr. Thompson grew up in Phoenix and spent most of his academic career in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania before returning home. Most recently, Dr. Thompson completed a fellowship in adult hip and knee arthroplasty at The CORE Institute. Dr. Thompson's career accolades include board certification, the Miller General Surgery Recognition award and select induction into the Sigma Sigma Phi Osteopathic Honor Society.
Dr. Thompson has held multiple prestigious positions including Orthopedic Surgery Representative Advisory Panel at Highmark Blueshield of Pennsylvania, vice chairman of the Surgery Department and chairman of the Orthopedic Implant Committee at Sun Health Del E. Webb Hospital, team physician of Central Penn Piranha Minor League Football team, and orthopedic surgeon for Harrisburg Heat Professional Indoor Soccer League.
Today he is the team physician for the Arizona Sting, the Medical Director of the "Joint Club" at Sun Health Boswell Hospital, president of the Alumni Association and has been the dedicated orthopedic surgeon for Glendale Community College.
Dr. Thompson is married and is the proud father of three. He enjoys golfing and watching college football.
