Rene A. Lucas, MD
Rene Lucas, MD is a specialist in physical medicine and rehabilitation. He has been practicing in the Northwest Valley for over 16 years, possessing a wealth of experience and proficiency. Dr. Lucas is currently the Medical Director of the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit at Del Webb Hospital where he helps patients regain their independence after fractures and joint replacements.
Dr. Lucas graduated summa cum laude from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California. He then became a Regents Scholar while earning his medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco. After UCSF, he completed his physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at the University of California- Los Angeles.
Dr. Lucas has been in private practice in Phoenix since 1991, treating all musculoskeletal conditions, including neck and low back, shoulder, hip, and knee problems from a non-surgical perspective. He has achieved board certification and is a fellow of the American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. Dr. Lucas is dedicated to preserving and enhancing the life of the active adult.
In his spare time, Dr. Lucas enjoys competitive cycling, having earned a category three United States Cycling Federation racing license. He has been awarded two Grand Canyon State gold medals. He lives with his wife and three children in Phoenix.
