Jason J. Scalise, MD

Jason Scalise, MD, is an internationally fellowship-trained specialist in reconstructive and arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder. Dr. Scalise is also a leader in the fields of shoulder replacement surgery, revision shoulder replacement surgery, and rotator cuff surgery. Dr. Scalise was named the recipient of the 2007 Cleveland Clinic Innovator Award for his work on the “Use of Virtual Bone Model to Measure Bone Loss and Preoperative Surgical Simulator.” The CORE Institute is proud to have a surgeon of Dr. Scalise’s caliber as a member of our surgical team.

Dr. Scalise completed his bachelor's degree at the University of California in San Diego and then went on to complete his medical degree at Finders University of South Australia School of Medicine in Adelaide, Australia.

Dr. Scalise completed his residency at Wayne State University, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery in Detroit, Michigan where he received the Herbert E. Pedersen Resident Award for Excellence in Orthopaedic Surgery. He then completed his fellowship training in shoulder surgery at the renowned Cleveland Clinic, in Cleveland, Ohio. After his fellowship training, he was brought on as staff at the Cleveland Clinic as a shoulder specialist.

Dr. Scalise has published several articles in academic journals, such as The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, The Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery, The Journal of Surgical Orthopedic Advances, the Journal of Orthopedic Trauma, and The University of Pennsylvania Orthopedic Journal among many others. He has also presented research in forums such as the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and The American Orthopaedic Association.
