Andrew J. Marcus, DO

Andrew J. Marcus, DO is a fellowship-trained, board certified orthopedic surgeon with more than 14 years of clinical experience. He specializes in arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the knee and shoulder, and orthopedic sports medicine.

Dr. Marcus was an assistant professor of orthopedic sports medicine at Marshall University for several years before joining The CORE Institute.  While at Marshall University, Dr. Marcus was responsible for educating and training students, residents, and fellow physicians. He was one of the orthopedic team physicians responsible for caring for the Division I Marshall athletes, as well as the Huntington Heroes, a professional arena football team.

Dr. Marcus received his bachelor’s degree in biology from Rider University in Lawrenceville, New Jersey where he graduated with honors. He then attended the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, New York where he received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree.  Dr. Marcus completed his internship and orthopedic surgery residency at Community General Osteopathic Hospital in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania where he served as chief resident his senior year. Dr. Marcus spent one year of his orthopedic training in Boston, Massachusetts where he received additional experience in orthopedic sports medicine (New England Baptist Hospital, Boston Children’s Hospital), joint reconstructive surgery (Brigham and Women’s Hospital), and orthopedic trauma (Brigham & Women’s, Boston Children’s). Dr. Marcus also completed an Arthroscopic Surgery, Shoulder Reconstruction and Sports Medicine fellowship at The CORE institute.

Dr. Marcus is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Osteopathic Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, and the Arizona Sports Medicine Society.
